Job summary

Moody Lagoon Restaurant at Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate in Walker Bay, Hermanus, seeks a hands-on Front of House Manager to lead a busy service and oversee stock, till and margins.

You will manage a team, train staff, rostering, and be the link between service and purchasing, while developing guests' wine experiences and revenue through strong product knowledge. Salary is negotiable on experience; own transport preferred; weekend work and events are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years running front of house in a busy setting.
• Comfort with numbers; ability to calculate gross profit and spot anomalies in figures.
• Hands-on point of sale administration using iKentoo, Lightspeed, GAAP or Micros.

Responsibilities

• Lead FOH and bar team including hiring, training, rostering and development.
• Ensure guest experience from lunch to large events; manage costs and margins.
• Oversee till, stock checks, and purchasing with the Head Chef; monitor beverage gross profit.
• Manage wine service on the floor and library bottles.
