Job summary

DSV - Global transport and logistics in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Freight Forwarder for Air Export. The role demands handling export documentation, airline bookings, and client liaison with a focus on perishables.

You will manage bookings, track shipments daily and coordinate with warehouses to ensure timely delivery. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in air freight exports, CargoWise1 proficiency, and strong knowledge of airline routes and rate negotiations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience as export controller in air freight exports perishables.
• Intermediate CargoWise1 knowledge / experience.
• Excellent understanding of industry requirements for freight forwarding.
• Experience in bookings and rates with airlines.

Responsibilities

• Processing / issuing export documentation such as AWB, SAD500s, Phytosanitary certificates, COO's.
• Airline bookings as per rate agreements.
• Liaising with clients via e-mail and telephone.
• Maintaining bookings lists and daily shipment tracking.
• Updating clients on shipment status and coordinating with warehouse.
• SARS acquittals.

Main Purpose of The Role

Communication with clients, airlines and all relevant departments. Airline reservations -bookings and rate negotiations. Completion of all export/import documents as prescribed by relevant local and international authorities.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum of 2 years experience as export controller in air freight exports perishables

Intermediate CargoWise1 knowledge / experience

Excellent understanding of industry and related job requirements for freight forwarding.

Experience in working with airlines directly i.t.o. bookings and rates

Geographical knowledge and familiar with airline routes and capabilities

Duties and Responsibilities

Processing / issuing of all export documentation: AWB, SAD500s, Phytosanitary certificate, PPECB, COO's, etc.

Airline bookings as per rate agreements

Liaising with clients via e-mail, and telephonically

Maintaining of bookings lists

Daily tracking of shipments

Updating clients on status of shipments

Daily shipment / warehouse planning

Liaising with warehouse i.t.o. deliveries / collections

SARS acquittals
