Job summary

Profile Personnel Ltd in the Western Cape seeks an experienced Sales Manager / Business Development to lead a sales team and drive growth within FMCG and distribution.

The role requires 3–5 years in sales with at least 2 in management, a proven track record in meeting targets, strong leadership, pricing understanding and ERP/CRM proficiency; travel throughout the Western Cape is expected.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of sales experience, with at least 2 years in a sales management role.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing new business.
• Strong Leadership, people management and business development skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building abilities.
• Commercial understanding of pricing, margins and gross profit.
• Computer literate with MS Office and ERP/CRM experience.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel throughout the Western Cape.
• Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, honest and results-driven.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and manage the sales team to achieve sales and gross profit targets.
• Set targets, monitor performance and provide ongoing coaching and support.
• Develop and implement strategies to grow the customer base and increase revenue.
• Identify, secure and develop new business across the retail, hospitality, food service, wholesale and manufacturing sectors.
• Manage key customer relationships and identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities.
• Prepare quotations, pricing proposals and tenders.
• Monitor market and competitor activity and identify new opportunities.
• Manage customer retention, recover lost business and assist with resolving customer issues.
• Monitor sales performance, forecasts, pipelines and reporting.
• Work closely with procurement, warehouse and other internal teams to ensure effective service delivery.
• Represent the organisation at customer meetings, trade shows and industry events.
