Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Procurement Officer for on-site work at our Tembisa, Gauteng facility. You will manage raw materials sourcing, supplier contracts, and inventory to sustain uninterrupted production in a leading FMCG/manufacturing setting.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years in procurement, strong negotiation, and a sharp eye for cost control and quality compliance, with readiness to travel to Tembisa as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management.
• Excellent negotiation and contract management abilities.
• Strong understanding of inventory management and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure raw materials, packaging, and supplies according to production needs and quality standards.
• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price, quality, reliability, and service.
• Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and contract conditions with suppliers.
• Manage supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery and quality adherence.
• Maintain records of purchases, supplier information, and inventory levels.
• Collaborate with production, quality control, and finance to align procurement activities.
• Monitor market trends for raw materials and cost-saving opportunities.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize supply chain efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with policies, ethics, and regulations.
• Assist in managing inventory levels to avoid stock-outs or excessive holding costs.
