Placements24 is seeking a Procurement Specialist for their FMCG headquarters in Midrand, Gauteng. The role focuses on sourcing raw materials and packaging, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships to ensure cost-efficiency and continuity of supply.

The ideal candidate has a 3–5 year track record in procurement, strong negotiation skills, and experience with ERP systems. This position offers growth in a dynamic Midrand environment and opportunities to optimize the supply chain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• 3–5 years of procurement or sourcing experience, preferably in FMCG.
• Proven contract negotiation experience with suppliers.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain principles and logistics.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and procurement/ERP software.

Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and select suppliers for raw materials and packaging with quality and cost targets.
• Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and contracts to optimize value.
• Manage supplier relationships and conduct performance reviews.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials to meet production schedules.
• Monitor market trends and supplier capabilities to inform strategy.
• Collaborate with QA to ensure material specs and standards are met.
• Develop and implement procurement policies to improve efficiency and compliance.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive value engineering.
• Maintain procurement records including POs and supplier data.
• Stay updated on best procurement and supply chain practices in FMCG.
