Job summary

Cre8work is seeking an experienced Fleet & Workshop Manager in South Africa’s Gauteng region to oversee daily fleet operations, including trucks and commercial vehicles. You will manage servicing, repairs, breakdowns, and staff, ensuring roadworthy, safe, and reliable vehicles.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive maintenance knowledge, and a track record of coordinating parts sourcing and external vendors to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Experience leading fleet and workshop operations.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repairs.
• Experience managing workshop staff and coordinating breakdowns.
• Diesel or motor mechanic qualification is advantageous.

• Manage the day-to-day fleet and workshop operations.
• Oversee vehicle servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Manage and coordinate vehicle breakdowns and emergency repairs.
• Supervise, mechanics and workshop staff.
• Ensure vehicles are roadworthy, safe and operational.
• Source and procure vehicle parts, tyres and workshop supplies.
• Manage external suppliers, workshops and service providers.
• Monitor fleet maintenance costs and minimise vehicle downtime.
• Maintain accurate vehicle, service, repair and breakdown records.
• Ensure compliance with company fleet and safety requirements.

Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• 5+ years' experience in fleet and workshop management, preferably with trucks/heavy commercial vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repairs.
• Experience managing and workshop staff.
• Experience with breakdown management and parts sourcing.
• Diesel Mechanic / Motor Mechanic qualification will be advantageous.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving and organisational skills.
