Icebolethu Group is seeking an energetic, detail-oriented Fleet Maintenance Assistant to join our Durban Fleet Centre team. In this role, you will gain hands‑on fleet management experience while providing essential administrative and operational support to our Fleet Maintenance Officers—assisting with vehicle logs, service scheduling, supplier liaison, and compliance tracking to keep our operations moving smoothly.
Fleet Administration & Tracking: Update vehicle maintenance logs, service records, repair costs, and breakdown databases accurately.
Service Scheduling & Inspections: Assist with scheduling routine vehicle servicing, conducting routine vehicle inspections, and capturing inspection checklists.
Compliance & Documentation: Help monitor vehicle licensing, Certificates of Fitness (COF), insurance docs, and compliance records.
Supplier & Workshop Liaison: Follow up with approved workshops and vendors regarding repair progress, bookings, and quotation requests.
Defect Reporting: Record and expedite identified vehicle defects or maintenance needs timeously.
Operational Support: Assist with vehicle collections/deliveries, fleet audits, document verification, and weekly/monthly fleet reporting.
Matric (Grade 12) is essential.
0–2 years’ experience in fleet administration, transport, workshop administration, or a similar environment.
Valid South African Driver’s License (Code 8 / Code B+) is essential.
Professional Driving Permit (PDP) is highly preferred.
A relevant Certificate in Fleet Management, Automotive Studies, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields will be advantageous.
Prior exposure to vehicle maintenance or fleet operations is advantageous.
Computer Literacy: Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance, fleet operations, and Health & Safety requirements.
Administrative Excellence: Strong record-keeping ability, organization, and sharp attention to detail.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication, time management, problem-solving, and teamwork.
