MULTIFORM HUMAN DEVELOPMENT (Pty) Ltd is seeking a Fleet Controller with a mechanical background to oversee the operation and maintenance of our vehicle fleet. This role focuses on fleet management, ensuring vehicles are in optimal condition and compliant with safety regulations.

You will monitor maintenance, analyze fleet data, work with drivers and service providers, and ensure records and budget adherence. A driver’s license and a track record in fleet operations are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the fleet, ensuring timely maintenance and repairs of vehicles.
• Monitor vehicle performance and conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Implement and oversee preventative maintenance programs for all fleet vehicles.
• Analyze fleet data to identify trends and areas for improvement in vehicle usage and maintenance efficiency.
• Collaborate with drivers to assess vehicle performance and address any operational concerns.
• Manage relationships with external service providers for vehicle servicing and repairs.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs for the entire fleet.
• Ensure adherence to budgetary constraints while maintaining fleet performance and reliability.

Requirements

• Mechanical background with at least 5 years demonstrable experience in fleet management or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance practices and safety regulations.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Proficient in data analysis to generate reports and make informed decisions regarding fleet operations.
• Strong communication skills to liaise with internal teams and external service providers.
• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are essential.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification or diploma in automotive technology, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with fleet management software or systems.
• Familiarity with logistics and transportation operations.
• Additional mechanical certifications or qualifications will be an advantage.
