Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years as Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie.
• Formal culinary qualification from a recognized institution.
• Proven expertise in classical and contemporary cooking techniques.
• Strong leadership and team management.
• Excellent knowledge of food safety and HACCP principles.
• Ability to work under pressure during peak events.
• Clear communication and keen eye for plated detail.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays for events.

Responsabilités

• Assist the Head Chef in managing all kitchen operations and plating for catered events in Richards Bay.
• Mentor junior kitchen staff and uphold high performance and recipe adherence.
• Control food quality, consistency, and presentation across menus.
• Contribute to menu planning, recipe development, and costing.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
• Manage inventory, stock rotation, and ingredient orders to minimize waste.
• Monitor equipment and coordinate maintenance as needed.
• Support training of new kitchen team members.
