About the Role

Our client seeks a strategic and experienced Financial Controller to lead their finance operations from a remote capacity. In this critical role, you will oversee all accounting and financial reporting activities, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency. You will be instrumental in shaping financial strategy, managing risk, and providing key insights to senior leadership. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports in compliance with IFRS.
• Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
• Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with department heads to align financial plans with strategic objectives.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking institutions.
• Analyze financial performance, identify key trends, and provide actionable recommendations to improve profitability and efficiency.

Requirements

• Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with at least 3-4 years in a controller or similar leadership role.
• Extensive knowledge of IFRS, South African accounting standards, and tax laws.
• Proven experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in financial modeling using Excel.
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a remote team effectively.
