Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Financial Controller to lead financial operations from anywhere in South Africa. This senior role drives reporting, compliance and internal controls while shaping financial strategy for the Richards Bay operations.

You will oversee accounting, payroll, external audits and tax compliance, and manage finance teams remotely. A professional qualification (CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA) with 7+ years post-qualification experience is required.

About the Role

Our client is recruiting a highly skilled and experienced Remote Financial Controller to lead their financial operations from anywhere within South Africa . This senior role is responsible for the overall financial health and integrity of the company, including financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and internal controls. You will provide strategic financial leadership, ensuring the company meets its financial objectives while adhering to all legal and ethical standards. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned financial professional to exert significant influence over financial strategy in a fully remote capacity, serving the company's operations based out of Richards Bay .

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the accounting department, including financial reporting, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
• Ensure compliance with all South African accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and implement robust internal financial controls and procedures.
• Manage and prepare timely and accurate financial statements and management reports.
• Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing strategic financial guidance.
• Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors and tax authorities.

Requirements

• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA) with a minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience.
• Proven experience in a financial controller or similar senior accounting role.
• Extensive knowledge of IFRS, tax regulations, and financial control frameworks.
