Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Accountant to join their fully remote finance department, operating remotely from Paarl. You will oversee general ledger functions, prepare financial statements under IFRS, and ensure the integrity of financial records.

Collaboration with internal teams and external auditors is essential during month-end and year-end closes. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CA(SA)/ACCA/CIMA, and at least 5 years of progressive

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Professional qualification such as CA(SA), ACCA, or CIMA is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in financial services.
• Proficiency with SAP or Oracle and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS standards and South African tax legislation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations including GL, AR, and AP.
• Prepare and analyze IFRS financial statements monthly, quarterly, and yearly.
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts for accuracy.
• Coordinate external audits and support regulatory filings.

About the Role

Requirements
