Job summary

Pillangó Placements is seeking an experienced accountant/bookkeeper for a hands-on role in Centurion. You will manage the full accounting cycle, assist with month-end closings, prepare management reports and support VAT and tax submissions, working closely with directors and owners.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years SME experience, strong Excel, familiarity with Sage 50 or similar software, and excellent communication skills in English and Afrikaans.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Full accounting cycle and month-end close experience.
• Experience preparing management accounts and financial statements.
• Exposure to VAT, payroll, taxation and audits.
• Proficient in Excel and financial reporting.
• Experience across multiple entities advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting processes through to trial balance.
• Process monthly journals and assist with month-end and year-end close.
• Complete bank, balance sheet, customer and supplier reconciliations.
• Maintain the fixed asset register.
• Prepare or assist with management accounts and monthly financial reports.
• Support directors with financial information and reporting.
• Assist with cash flow reporting, projections and financial planning.
• Prepare VAT reconciliations and support VAT submissions.
• Assist with EMP201, EMP501 and other statutory submissions.
• Prepare schedules for tax and audit requirements.
• Monitor debtors and creditors and assist with collections and payments.
• Allocate receipts and payments accurately.
• Compile audit files and assist with ad hoc finance projects.
• Present financial information in management or board meetings.
