Job summary

Pillangó Placements July, 2026 is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our Woodmead-based technology partner and manage day-to-day financial operations. You will handle transactions in Sage Accounting, prepare monthly management accounts, and ensure VAT, PAYE, UIF and SDL compliance while liaising with SARS and auditors.

The role demands 3–5 years of accounting experience, advanced Excel skills, and a strong understanding of SA accounting standards.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of accounting experience in a similar role.
• Proficient in Sage Accounting and SARS eFiling.
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Solid understanding of South African VAT, PAYE, UIF and SDL.
• Three-year diploma or bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or related field.

Responsibilities

• Process daily transactions and maintain records in Sage Accounting.
• Manage accounts payable/receivable and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and complete month-end procedures.
• Submit VAT, PAYE, UIF and SDL returns.
• Support tax compliance for provisional and corporate income tax.
• Reconcile balance-sheet accounts and maintain fixed assets.
• Liaise with SARS, auditors, banks and service providers.
• Improve accounting processes and support finance requirements.
