Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a strategic Head of Finance and Administration to lead financial operations and administrative functions from a Rustenburg, North West office. This senior role shapes financial strategy, planning, budgeting and risk management while guiding admin support across the business.

The ideal candidate has a professional qualification (CA(SA)/ACCA/CMA), 10+ years in finance with 5+ in management, and strong knowledge of SA tax laws and corporate finance. Hybrid work model offered.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification such as CA (SA), ACCA, CMA, or equivalent is essential.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 5 years in a senior management position.
• Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of corporate finance, treasury, and risk management.
• Experience in managing administrative functions and teams.
• Excellent understanding of South African tax laws and financial regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software (SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work strategically and operationally.
• Experience within the mining industry or related sectors in Rustenburg, North West is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all financial operations including accounting, budgeting, planning and forecasting.
• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with long-term goals.
• Prepare accurate financial statements, reports and analysis.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards.
• Lead the administration team including facilities, IT, HR support and general office operations.
• Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets.
• Manage cash flow, investments and debt financing.
• Provide financial insights to executive management.
• Oversee audits and liaise with external auditors.
• Drive efficiency and cost-effectiveness across admin functions.
