Placements24 is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its corporate finance team in Mahikeng, North West. The role focuses on accurate financial reporting, statement preparation, and audit support within a hybrid work setup.

You will manage day-to-day accounting, ensure IFRS compliance, and contribute to budgeting and strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate holds a recognized accounting degree and professional qualifications (CA(SA)/ACCA/CIMA) with 4–6 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Professional qualification such as CA (SA), ACCA, or CIMA is highly preferred.
• 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience with strong corporate finance background in Banking & Finance.
• Proficiency in SAP, Oracle, Pastel and advanced MS Excel.
• In-depth knowledge of IFRS and South African accounting standards.
• Experience with financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and audits.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Hybrid work environment based in Mahikeng, North West.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to management and regulators.
• Assist with budgets and forecasts preparation.
• Coordinate and support external audits with necessary documentation.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy.
• Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
