Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to support operations in Port Elizabeth. This hands-on role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of power systems and equipment at client sites, serving as the face of the company on the ground.

The ideal candidate has strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with a technical qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering and at least three years of field experience.

Qualifications

• Technical qualification or certification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related trade.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Field Service Technician or in a similar technical role.
• Proven experience working with power systems, generators, and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, preventative maintenance, and emergency repairs on various power systems, including generators, transformers, and switchgear.
• Diagnose technical issues using appropriate testing equipment and provide timely and effective solutions.
• Maintain accurate service records, including work performed, parts used, and time spent.
• Respond to service calls and troubleshoot equipment failures in the field.
• Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with company and industry standards.
• Provide basic training and technical assistance to client personnel on equipment operation.
