Placements24 in South Africa seeks a diligent Field Service Engineer to support power generation equipment in and around Soweto. You will travel to client sites to install, commission, maintain, troubleshoot and repair generators and turbines, acting as the technical point of contact to ensure reliable operation.

The role requires a National Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and at least four years' field service experience.

Qualifications

About the Role

Our client requires a diligent Field Service Engineer to support their power generation equipment services in and around Soweto . This role involves traveling to client sites to perform installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of power generation systems. You will be the technical point of contact for customers, ensuring their equipment operates efficiently and reliably. This position is crucial for maintaining customer satisfaction and the operational integrity of vital energy infrastructure in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation , commissioning, and routine maintenance of power generation equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues with generators, turbines, and associated control systems.

Requirements

• National Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in field service or maintenance of power generation equipment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems related to generators and turbines.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the Soweto region and ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends.
