Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is seeking a Safety/ Fleet Maintenance professional to lead safety initiatives, ensure SHEQ compliance and oversee maintenance of fleet equipment. The role involves site visits, inspections and ensuring all work adheres to local legislation.

You will implement lean improvements, coordinate with maintenance and service teams, and train colleagues as needed to sustain safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of hydraulics, electronics, mechanical or electrical domains.
  • Experience with heavy lifting equipment (5+ years).

Responsibilities

  • Motivate and ensure everyone works safely and according to SHEQ standards.
  • Manage safety, quality and environment, ensuring work is safe, efficient and qualitative.
  • Support lean principles and continuous improvements within the organization.
  • Site visits to various locations and complete a Work Progress Inspection (WPI) regularly.
  • Ensure activities comply with SHEQ standards, policies and local legislation.
  • Inspect, control and test mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic fleet equipment per procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Carry out inspections, interventions and repairs on fleet equipment and yard per checklist.
  • Execute periodical maintenance schemes for fleet/equipment.
  • Troubleshoot faults and repair failures.
  • Deploy and position lifting equipment as needed.
  • Order standard parts via Group Service Manager or local Fleet Manager.
  • Accurately record maintenance reports, work records and timesheets per procedures.
  • Report failures, errors, deviations and damages.
  • Highlight foreseen major repairs and recurring problems.
  • Attend department meetings and, when needed, other meetings (e.g., Safety).
  • Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders; share knowledge and provide training to colleagues.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for motivating/ensuring everyone works safely and according to the company's SHEQ standards, as stated in document of SHEQ department
  • Responsibilities Manager with Regard to Safety, Quality & Environment, to ensure that all work is done in a safe, efficient, and qualitative way.
  • Complies with the attitude of Lean and continuous improvements in the organization
  • Visits various sites/locations and fill in a WPI on regular basis
  • Responsible for ensuring that all executed activities and processes are in compliance with company SHEQ standards, policies, instructions, and local legislation.
  • Checks, controls, and tests the mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic aspects of the fleet equipment according to company procedures and instructions, in-line with manufacturers guidelines.
  • Performs inspections, interventions, and repairs with regard to fleet equipment, material, and, when necessary, the yard, according to a checklist and/or the applicable company procedures and manufacturers guidelines.
  • Executes the periodical maintenance schemes for fleet/equipment.
  • Troubleshoots when detecting and repairing failures.
  • Is able to deploy and position the lifting equipment.
  • Orders the necessary (standard) parts through the Group Service Manager or a local Fleet Manager.
  • Accurately records and punctually completes required documentation, such as maintenance reports, work record sheets, and timesheets, according to company procedures and instructions.
  • Reports failures, errors, deviations and damages.
  • Reports foreseen major repairs and repetitive problems.
  • Attends meetings of own departments in a contributory manner.
  • Attends other meetings (for example on Safety) when asked and where needed.
  • Maintains contact and effective working relations with internal and external relevant parties with regard to work.
  • Shares knowledge, and, if necessary, provides training for direct colleagues.
