Job summary

Boardroom Appointments in Cape Town is seeking a Technician (Hydraulics / Electrical / Mechanical) to maintain rolling equipment and ensure safety and reliability.

You will perform repairs, conduct preventive maintenance, visit sites, and document maintenance activities, reporting to the Workshop Supervisor. The role emphasizes Lean improvements and adherence to SHEQ standards, with occasional support beyond the workshop.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of hydraulics, electronics, mechanical or electrical systems.
• Experience with maintenance and repairs on rolling material.

Responsibilities

• Motivate and ensure everyone works safely and according to SHEQ standards.
• Promote Lean and continuous improvement in the organization.
• Visit various sites and fill in a WPI regularly.
• Ensure all activities comply with SHEQ standards, policies, instructions, and local legislation.
• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on fleet equipment as instructed by the Workshop Supervisor.
• Troubleshoot when detecting and repairing failures.
• Provide support for interventions outside the workshop when required.
• Accurately record and complete required documentation, such as maintenance reports and timesheets.
• Report failures, errors, deviations, and damages to the Workshop Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for motivating/ensuring everyone works safely and according to the company's SHEQ standards, as stated in document of SHEQ department Responsibilities Manager with Regard to Safety, Quality & Environment, to ensure that all work is done in a safe, efficient, and qualitative way.
• Complies with the attitude of Lean and continuous improvements in the organization.
• Visits various sites/locations and fill in a WPI on regular basis.
• Responsible for ensuring that all executed activities and processes are in compliance with company SHEQ standards, policies, instructions, and local legislation.
• Performs repairs and preventive maintenance, based on the instructions of the Workshop Supervisor regarding fleet equipment, material, and, when necessary, the yard, according to a checklist and/or the applicable company procedures and manufacturers guidelines.
• Troubleshoots when detecting and repairing failures.
• If required, provides support for interventions outside the workshop.
• Accurately records and punctually completes required documentation, such as maintenance reports, work record sheets, and timesheets, according to company procedures and instructions.
• Reports failures, errors, deviations, and damages to the Workshop Supervisor.
