Job summary

Lectra in Durban seeks a Field Service Engineer to deliver high-quality service to customers across the South Africa region and beyond. You will install, maintain, and audit equipment, train customers on CAM applications, and provide timely technical support in close collaboration with our expertise centers.

The role requires strong electronics, electrical and mechanical knowledge, plus five years of field experience, English and French language skills, and willingness to travel extensively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in electronics, electrical, or mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 5 years in field engineering on electro-mechanical devices.
• English and French proficiency required.
• Ability to read electrical and pneumatic schematics preferred.
• Experience with maintaining and servicing complex equipment.

Responsibilities

• Promote preventive maintenance and use Lectra maintenance kits.
• Carry out pre-installation, installation, audits, and maintenance in the field.
• Provide customer training on CAM application and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment including software installation and parts replacement.
• Report activities and maintain customer relationships; collaborate with Expertise Center.
• Prepare work orders, expense reports, and timesheets.
• Ensure safety and high quality to maximize satisfaction and profitability.
