Job summary

Lectra is seeking a Field Service Engineer for the Cape Town region to ensure high-quality service delivery, including preventive maintenance, installations, training, and technical support. The role is field-based with extensive travel to client sites in South Africa and beyond.

The ideal candidate has a strong electronics/electrical/mechanical engineering background, 5+ years in field service, and fluency in English and French. Proficiency with Salesforce, Oracle, and MS Office is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering (electronics/electrical/mechanical).
• 5+ years in field engineering servicing electro-mechanical devices.
• Reading electrical/pneumatic schematics is a plus.
• Experience with managing and preserving technical equipment.
• Proficiency in English and French is required.

Responsibilities

• Promote preventive maintenance approach and audits with Lectra kits and consumables.
• Perform pre-installation, installation, audit, and maintenance in the field.
• Train customers on CAM application and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment including software installs and parts replacement.
• Collaborate with Expertise Center on field activities.
• Document service activities in Salesforce daily.
• Maintain strong customer relationships and demonstrate value of Lectra services.
• Prepare work orders, expenses, and timesheets as required.
• Strive for safety, knowledge, professionalism, and customer satisfaction.
