Placements24 in South Africa seeks a Field Service Engineer to install, commission, and service industrial automation equipment at client sites around Klerksdorp. You will travel extensively within the region, performing diagnostics and on-site technical support to ensure maximum uptime.

The role requires a Diploma/Bachelor in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics, 4+ years in field service, and strong PLC/robotics skills, with proficiency in Siemens and Allen-Bradley systems and reading

Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
4+ years experience as Field Service Engineer or similar technical support role.
Strong hands-on experience with industrial automation, PLCs, robotics; mechanical and electrical reading skills.

Responsibilities

Install, commission, and service industrial automation equipment including robotics, PLCs, and HMI systems.
Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting to resolve issues promptly.
Provide on-site technical support and training to clients on operation and maintenance of equipment.
Document service activities with detailed reports on repairs and client interactions.
Collaborate with internal engineering and sales teams to ensure customer satisfaction and identify upgrade opportunities.
