Placements24 is seeking a highly motivated Field Service Engineer to service energy equipment in and around Benoni. You will travel extensively to client sites to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex systems, serving as the primary technical contact for customers.

The ideal candidate has a strong electrical and mechanical background, good problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under pressure in diverse environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of field service or technical support experience, preferably in energy sector.
• Strong understanding of power generation equipment and control systems.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Perform on‑site installation, commissioning, and maintenance of energy generation and distribution equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system issues for clients.

• Provide technical training and support to customer personnel.
• Prepare detailed service reports, including findings, actions taken, and recommendations.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure timely replenishment for service needs.
• Respond to emergency service calls efficiently and effectively.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in field service or technical support, preferably within the energy sector.
• Strong understanding of power generation equipment, control systems, and industrial machinery.
• Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for complex electromechanical systems.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation, schematics, and blueprints.
