About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Network Technician to join their fully remote team, supporting the Richards Bay and surrounding areas. While the role is designated as remote, it requires travel to customer sites to perform installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network equipment. You will be the on-the-ground expert, ensuring that client networks are deployed correctly and function optimally. This position is essential for delivering our client's high-quality telecommunications services directly to customers, requiring a self-starter with excellent technical aptitude and customer-facing skills, comfortable working independently in the field across a designated geographic region.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and related equipment at customer premises.
• Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting of network connectivity issues, resolving problems efficiently.
• Conduct site surveys and assess installation requirements, ensuring compliance with company standards.
• Provide technical support and training to customers on new equipment and services.
• Manage inventory of equipment and tools, ensuring they are maintained and accounted for.
• Generate detailed service reports after each site visit, documenting work performed and resolutions.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Network Technician or in a similar field service role.
• Strong understanding of network hardware installation, cabling standards, and basic networking principles.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting common network issues and hardware faults.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage travel logistics effectively.
