Job summary

Howland Recruiting is seeking a skilled Field Technician / Field Engineer to join an on-site team in Blackheath, Cape Town. The role focuses on providing technical and after-sales support in the FMCG production and manufacturing sectors.

The ideal candidate will have a Millwright/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering qualification and at least 5 years of experience. Responsibilities include writing technical documentation, developing databases, delivering training, and occasional national or international travel.

This is a full-time role with standard working hours from Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Technical / Manufacturing environment.
• Strong hands-on ability with a passion for producing detailed written reports.
• Solid attendance record with sound references.

Job description

Our client, a leading player in the FMCG, production and manufacturing sectors, is seeking a skilled Field Technician / Field Engineer to join their on-site team in Blackheath, Cape Town. The successful candidate will need a Millwright / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering qualification with 5 years’ experience generating reports and training people (locally and internationally) in a technical / manufacturing environment.

Non-negotiable Requirements:

• Millwright / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering qualification

• SA citizen

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Technical / Manufacturing environment

• Strong hands-on ability with a passion for producing detailed written reports

• Excellent planning, organisational and client interaction skills

• Business English proficiency (written and verbal)

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

• Solid attendance record with sound references

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong adherence to quality as well as health and safety standards

• Vali driver’s license and passport for travelling both nationally and internationally

• Live in Western Cape

Responsibilities:

• Technical and after-sales support

• Supply technical information to marketing, sales, spares and customers

• Participate in projects and research as required

• Conduct testing and validations

• Deliver training sessions

· Monday - Thursday: 08:00 - 16:30

· Friday: 08:00 - 16:00
