Job summary

Synergy Jobs (Pty) Ltd invites applications for a Technician in Elsies River, Cape Town. You will maintain and supervise maintenance staff, perform preventive and corrective work, and ensure timely turnaround of tasks while keeping job cards accurate.

The role requires Grade 12 and a technical trade test (Mechanical or Electrical), 3–5 years in FMCG engineering, and leadership abilities. The position is on-site with a fixed monthly CTC of R30,000 and no additional benefits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
• Supervise maintenance staff and manage worklists.

• Maintain housekeeping and PPE usage.
• Contribute to downtime reporting and maintenance planning.

Job description

POSITION: Technician

LOCATION: Elsies River

REPORTING TO: Maintenance Manager

Job Purpose

Maintenance and supervision of Maintenance staff.

Output:

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance work.
• Ensure Job cards issued are completed.
• Effective turnaround time of Corrective and Preventivemaintenance work issued.
• Ensuring Job cards are completed correctly.
• Managing and prioritizing worklists from available resources.
• Maintenance check sheets are returned and completedaccurately.

Unplanned Maintenance

• Ensuring effective maintenance team response time to breakdowns reported.
• Reporting of Downtime details accurately.
• Ensure quality of work is of a high standard.

Site Housekeeping

• Maintenance areas are always kept neat and tidy

General

• Ownership of designated facility.
• Ensure area of responsibility is standard.
• Report any deviance of Policies and procedures.
• Available for Standby duties.
• Area temperatures are specific.

People Management

• Supervise Crew of maintenance staff.
• Ensuring positive team attitude.
• Following up on completed work.
• Time keeping of staff.

SHEQ

• Always ensure acceptable personal hygiene of all staff.
• Always manage correct use of PPE.
• Ensure that process and product hygiene standards are always maintained.
• All duties are performed according to the group’s Occupational Health and Safety guidelines and procedures.

Minimum Requirements

Qualification details

• Grade 12 is required.
• Technical trade test (Mechanical/Electrical) is required.

Experience

• 3 – 5 years ’ engineering experience in a FMCG environment is required.
