Job summary

Placements24 in Mossel Bay is seeking an experienced Farm Mechanization Specialist to ensure optimal selection, operation, and maintenance of all agricultural machinery across our client’s farms. You will advise on new technology, develop maintenance schedules, and troubleshoot issues to maximize uptime and efficiency.

You will work with suppliers to keep equipment up to date, manage budgets, and stay ahead of mechanization advances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Agricultural or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years' experience with agricultural machinery.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with precision agriculture technologies.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, select, and advise on new machinery acquisitions.
• Develop and implement maintenance programs for all equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
• Ensure safe and efficient operation by trained personnel.
• Manage spare parts inventory and liaise with suppliers.
