Placements24 in Mossel Bay is seeking an experienced Farm Mechanization Specialist to ensure optimal selection, operation, and maintenance of all agricultural machinery across our client’s farms. You will advise on new technology, develop maintenance schedules, and troubleshoot issues to maximize uptime and efficiency.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Farm Mechanization Specialist to join their team in Mossel Bay . This role is critical for ensuring the optimal selection, operation, and maintenance of all agricultural machinery and equipment used across their operations. You will be responsible for advising on new technology acquisitions, developing maintenance schedules, and troubleshooting mechanical issues to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency. This position requires a strong blend of technical expertise in agricultural machinery and practical knowledge of farm operations, contributing significantly to the productivity and sustainability of the farm.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, select, and advise on the acquisition of new agricultural machinery and equipment based on operational needs.
• Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance and repair programs for all farm equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues with tractors, harvesters, and other farm implements.
• Ensure that all machinery is operated safely and efficiently by trained personnel.
• Manage spare parts inventory and liaise with suppliers for procurement and service.
• Stay updated on advancements in farm technology and mechanization to recommend improvements.

Requirements

• Degree or relevant technical qualification in Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
