Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Farm Machinery Technician to maintain and repair agricultural equipment in the Polokwane area. The role focuses on routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to keep the fleet in optimal condition during planting and harvest seasons.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, a thorough understanding of farm equipment, and a valid driver’s license. On-site work in Limpopo with opportunities for training and career growth are offered.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Agricultural Mechanics or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a farm machinery mechanic.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems in agricultural equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on tractors, combines, planters, and other farm machinery.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on agricultural equipment.
• Conduct regular inspections of machinery to identify potential problems and address them proactively.
• Maintain an inventory of spare parts and order replacements as needed.
• Ensure all machinery is operated and maintained safely according to manufacturer guidelines.
• Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
