Job summary

Placements24 in Stellenbosch is seeking a skilled Farm Machinery Technician to maintain and repair tractors, harvesters, plows, sprayers, and other equipment. You will diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and perform preventative maintenance to keep the fleet operating efficiently.

Ideal candidates have proven experience with diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems, and hold a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Technician, Diesel Mechanic, or Farm Machinery Technician.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems in agriculture.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and commitment to safety.
• Valid driver's license; able to work in a workshop and in the field in Stellenbosch.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in farm machinery.
• Perform routine maintenance on tractors, harvesters, plows, sprayers, and other equipment.
• Repair and replace faulty parts to high quality and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
• Assist in procuring spare parts and manage inventory for common items.
• Keep machinery clean, lubricated, and in safe condition.
