Job summary

SOLEVO is seeking a Factory Operator in Gauteng, Boksburg to join our warehouse team. The role requires operating and maintaining forklifts, handling raw materials, weighing and loading products, and ensuring safety and housekeeping standards are met.

The ideal candidate has a forklift licence, is medically fit, and can work with minimal supervision, collaborating with Production and Despatch to ensure smooth operations. Prior chemical warehouse experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Forklift licence is mandatory.
• Medically fit to operate a forklift.
• 4 to 6 months training required.
• Warehouse experience in a chemical environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Ensure forklifts are in good working and clean condition.
• Report any defects to Production Manager immediately.
• Upload forklift checks daily to the system (iPad).
• Ensure finished goods are safely packed on shelves.
• Prevent loading leaking drums onto delivery vehicles.
• Address all warehouse leaks immediately.
• Adhere to health, safety protocols and PPE.
• Collect picking slips and ensure accurate picking.
• Sign and return picking slips for delivery notes.
• Adhere to site, safety, manufacturing, quality procedures.
• Daily load and unload of trucks.
• Maintain daily housekeeping.
• Weigh raw materials.
• Operate manufacturing plant processes.
• Attend safety meetings.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking an experienced and talentedFactory Operator with sound manufacturing or warehousing experience. Ability to work in a team and have basic understanding of safety standards of warehousing.

What do we expect from the candidate?

The candidate will be part of warehouse team and should possess a valid forklift license. Should also have basic understanding of written communication and collaboration of different departments within production.

The key responsibilities:

• Ensure forklifts are in good working and clean condition
• Report any defects to Production Manager immediately
• Upload all forklift checks onto the system daily(using the iPad)
• Ensure finished goods are safely and packed on to the shelves
• Ensure no leaking drums are loaded onto vehicles for delivery to customers
• Ensure all leaking in the warehouse are immediately addressed.
• Adhere to all health, safety protocols and PPE for the various products manufactured.
• Collect picking slips from Despatch Clerk and ensure picking is done accordingly.
• Ensure picking slips are signed and given back to Despatch Clerk for delivery note processing.
• Adhere to all health, safety protocols and PPE for the various products manufactured
• Accountable for own basic discipline, following instructions, timekeeping, adhering to all company procedures including Safety, Manufacturing, Site, Quality control regulations and procedures.
• Daily load and unload of trucks.
• Ensure daily housekeeping is done.
• Weighing raw materials.
• Manufacturing plant operations.
• Housekeeping.
• Attend all safety meetings where applicable.

If you possess…

Must-Have:

• Forklift licence
• Medically fit to operate a forklift.
• 4 to 6 months training.
• Warehouse experience in a chemical environment will be advantageous.
