Job summary

SOLEVO is seeking a capable Operations Supervisor to manage daily factory tasks and lead Operations Assistants within our Pretoria site. The role focuses on safety, discipline, and continuous improvement in a chemical production environment.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in a similar role, with hands-on experience in plant operations and chemical manufacturing processes. A strong team player who can train and guide staff is essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric) is required.
• 1-2 years of working experience in a similar role.
• Experience in plant operations and machinery for formulating chemical products.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead Operations Assistants in daily factory tasks per instructions from Production Supervisor/Foreman/Stores Foreman.
• Foster a culture of respect, teamwork, and continual improvement.
• Maintain discipline and provide on‑the‑job training to staff.
• Ensure tasks follow RAIMS procedures and safety rules.
• Ensure high standards of housekeeping on a daily basis.
• Complete required paperwork per RAIMS procedures.

The key responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead Operations Assistants in executing daily factory tasks as per instructions from Production Supervisor / Foreman / Stores Foreman.
• Establish and facilitate a culture of mutual respect, high work ethic, teamwork, and continual improvement.
• Maintain discipline.
• Provide on‑job training and guidance in tasks to be performed and processes to be followed including input into training needs of Operations Assistants.
• Ensure high standards of housekeeping on a daily.
• Ensure that the tasks are conducted according to the company’s documented procedures.
• At all times implement and adhere to all aspects of the Rolfes Agri Integrated Management Systems (RAIMS). Adequate supervision of subordinates (inward reports) to ensure adherence to the relevant RAIMS policies and procedures.
• Safe manufacturing and follow plant operating procedures.
• Complete required paperwork as per RAIMS procedures.

• Must follow safety, health and environment related requirements.
• Enforce the correct use and care of PPE.
• Other site regulations and relevant policies and procedures.
• Ensure that all and any safety accidents and incidents, near misses and any other abnormal observations and/or events are immediately reported by the staff under your control to you and then you immediately report the same to the Production Supervisor/Foreman / Stores Foreman.
• Any other reasonable instruction or task allocated by the Plant Performance Manager/Foreman/Supervisor and/or any other senior manager

If you possess… Must-Have:

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• 1-2 years of working experience in a similar role.
• Working experience in plant operations and machinery to manufacture highly formulated chemical products.
