Job summary

Solevo Group seeks a Strategic Supply Planning and Procurement Manager to lead local and global procurement, optimise supplier relations, and drive cost efficiencies across agrochemical materials. The role requires strong negotiation, MRP system expertise, and a proactive approach to regulatory and compliance matters.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Diploma / Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or any Agricultural field
• Minimum of 5 years proven experience in procurement in a similar chemical or agrochemical manufacturing environment
• Solid working knowledge of Chemical or Agri industry supply chain markets and dynamics
• Proven experience with global sourcing, forex management processes, import logistics and cost analysis
• Experience with MRP systems such as Netstock/Dynamics/Power BI
• Knowledge of working capital aspects of procurement
• Dynamics D365 experience is an advantage
• Strong analytical and negotiating skills
• Good IT skills (Office, ERP, Stock Management) and excellent communication

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate all local and global procurement activities including logistics
• Adhere to authorization policies for procurement
• Develop procurement strategy and implement it
• Identify cost savings and improve working capital (inventory, terms)
• Pursue multiple supply options to ensure continuity
• Negotiate prices and payment terms; establish supply agreements
• Maintain approved supplier list in line with policy
• Maintain MRP data in systems (Netstock/Power BI)
• Manage cost lists for raw and packaging materials
• Coordinate with sales to manage cost fluctuations and impact analysis
• Manage freight forwarders for imports/exports
• Assist to manage excess stock
• Support regulatory with procurement data for registrations
• Prepare management reports
• Ensure SHERQ and company policies are followed

What are we looking for?

We are seeking an experienced and talented Strategic Supply Planning and Procurement Manager.

The Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and co-ordinate all local and global company procurement activities including logistics aspects.
• Adhere to company authorization policies for all procurement (limits of Authority).
• Actively participate in development of company procurement strategy and implementation of the same.
• Continuously and Pro-actively identify improvement opportunities eg cost savings, improving working capital aspects such as inventory cover and payment terms, and, plan and implement the same.
• Continuously and Pro-actively pursue multiple supply options as appropriate (Alternate suppliers and source regions) in order to ensure continuity and sustainability within the supply chain.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms and establish supply agreements where appropriate.
• Maintain approved supplier list in line with company policy.
• Pro-actively maintain MRP systems data (Neststock / Power BI).
• Maintain accurate and up to date in store cost price listing at all times for all raw and packaging material.
• Liaise proactively with sales to manage fluctuations in costs and assist with impact assessment of the same prior to order confirmation.
• Manage Freight Fowarders and related costs for imports & exports.
• Proactively assist to manage excess stock levels.
• Provide material sources data in support of registration process to R&D / regulatory department.
• Attend and participate in various company meetings as relevant to the job function.
• Prepare reports as may be required routinely or on request of management.
• The Agri Industry is highly regulated and the incumbent must pro-actively assist the regulatory department to ensure that all and any procurement related regulations are complied with.
• Comply with any and all company SHERQ, job specific and other rules and regulations as detailed in the policies and procedures of the Rolfes Agri Integrated Management Systems.

If you possess…

Must-Have

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Diploma / Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or any Agricultural field.
• Minimum of 5 years proven experience in procurement in a similar chemical or agrochemical manufacturing environment is essential.
• Solid working knowledge and understanding of relevant Chemical or Agri industry supply chain markets and supply chain dynamics for commodities, specialities and pesticide actives.
• Proven experience with global sourcing, forex management processes, managing import logistics and cost determination and analysis.
• Proven experience in MRP systems such as Netstock/Dynamics/Power BI.
• Solid working knowledge of working capital aspects of procurement such as stock cover, safety stock, payments terms and all such aspects.
• Dynamics D365 experience will be an advantage.
• Strong analytical and negotiating skills.
• Self-motivated and energetic.
• Good IT skills essential (Microsoft Office, ERP and Stock Management Systems).
• Excellent communication skills essential.
