Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Food and Beverage Supervisor for a charming boutique hotel in Nelspruit. The role covers restaurant, bar and room service, with hands-on on-site leadership and administrative tasks done remotely as needed.

You will lead service staff, ensure service standards and cost controls, and collaborate with the F&B Manager to maintain high guest satisfaction in a hybrid work setting within Mpumalanga.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in F&B, preferably in hotels.
• Strong understanding of F&B operations, service standards and cost control.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Knowledge of health, safety and hygiene regulations.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Hybrid role with on-site operations and remote admin tasks.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Nelspruit/Mbombela area.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily food and beverage operations, ensuring excellent service delivery.
• Assist in managing staff, including scheduling, training, and performance monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene standards in F&B outlets.
• Manage inventory levels for food and beverages, including ordering, receiving, and storage.
• Control costs related to food and beverage, minimizing waste and maximizing profitability.
• Handle guest inquiries, feedback and complaints promptly and professionally.
• Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of dining areas, bars, and service stations.
• Support the F&B Manager in developing menus and promotional activities.
• Ensure efficient operation of the POS system.
• Conduct regular checks on food and beverage quality.
• Assist in managing room service operations and in-room dining.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff and other hotel departments.
