Job summary

DP World in South Africa seeks an experienced import freight services professional to manage end-to-end shipments, liaising with clients and international offices to determine optimal transport methods. You will ensure accurate documentation, monitor cargo progress, and support the clearing process.

The role requires 3–5 years in Import Freight Services, exceptional communication, and a solid understanding of forwarding, clearing, and incoterms.

Qualifications

• Matric is required.
• NCFF (NQF ¾) and FIATA Diploma advantageous.
• Logistics or related degree/diploma advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Open shipment files, allocate file numbers, obtain landside and transport rates and ensure rates match ISL buying rates.
• Provide shipment documentation and notify consignees; update status reports for the clearing department.
• Gather cargo information and agree shipping methods with clients and international offices.
• Monitor cargo arrivals, handover documents to carriers, and support Event Controls and data capture in Cargowise.
• Track and trace client shipments from indent to POD and invoice payment to aid closeout.
