Placements24 is seeking a Geologist to join our exploration team in Pietermaritzburg. You will identify and evaluate mineral resources, interpret geophysical and geochemical data, and help guide drilling programs during project advancement.

The ideal candidate has a strong geology background, excellent analytical skills, and a collaborative mindset to work with geophysicists, geochemists, and drilling teams in a dynamic mining environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Geology or related Earth Science.
• 5+ years in mineral exploration with SA geology focus.
• Proficiency in Leapfrog and ArcGIS for data visualization.
• Experience in geochemistry, geophysics, and drilling.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geological mapping, sampling, and data analysis to identify resources.
• Interpret geophysical and geochemical data to refine targets and guide drilling.
• Develop and manage exploration budgets and timelines.
• Prepare detailed geological reports and presentations.
• Collaborate with government agencies and landowners for access.
• Supervise drilling operations and core logging for data quality.
