Job summary

Placements24 is looking for a highly motivated Geologist specializing in exploration to join our team in Tembisa. You will identify and evaluate new mineral resource opportunities to support our growth and future pipeline.

The role blends field work with data analysis, requiring collaboration with geoscientists and engineers to advance exploration projects and ensure safety and data quality at all times.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology or related earth science.
• Minimum of 5 years of mineral exploration experience, greenfield and brownfield.
• Proficiency in Leapfrog, ArcGIS, or similar 3D modeling tools.
• Strong understanding of structural geology, economic geology, and exploration geochemistry.
• Experience with field exploration techniques including drilling supervision and core logging.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute geological mapping and sampling programs in prospective exploration areas.
• Analyze geological data, including core logging, geochemical assays, and geophysical surveys, to define mineralized zones.
• Utilize specialized software for geological modeling and resource estimation.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations on exploration findings and recommendations.
• Collaborate with geophysicists, geochemists, and engineers to integrate diverse datasets for comprehensive project understanding.
• Ensure all fieldwork and data collection comply with company standards and safety protocols.
