Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Mining Geologist to join our exploration and operations team in Stellenbosch. You will identify, evaluate, and delineate mineral resources and support mine planning with accurate data collection and mapping.

The role requires experience in geological modeling, sampling, logging drill core, and collaboration with engineers to optimize extraction strategies, while upholding data integrity and industry standards.

Qualifications

Degree in Geology or Geological Engineering.
Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Mining Geologist.
Proficiency in geological modeling software (Leapfrog, Micromine, Vulcan).
Strong understanding of structural geology, mineralogy, and ore deposit types relevant to the region.
Experience with drilling, sampling, and assaying.

Responsibilities

Conduct geological mapping, sampling, and logging of drill core for various mineral exploration projects.
Perform geological data analysis and interpretation to identify and delineate mineralized zones.
Develop and manage geological models using specialized software.
Collaborate with mine planning engineers and other geologists to define resource blocks and optimize extraction strategies.
Ensure the quality and integrity of geological data collected and reported.
Assist in the estimation of mineral resources and reserves, adhering to industry standards.
