Job summary

Placements24 in East London, Eastern Cape, seeks a Senior Security Architect to lead the design and implementation of secure IT infrastructure and solutions. The role defines enterprise security strategy and guides the organization toward a more secure future.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in information security, 5+ years in security architecture, and deep expertise in TOGAF, SABSA, NIST, and cloud security across AWS, Azure, and GCP. On-site work is required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in information security, with at least 5 years in a security architecture role.
• Proven experience designing and implementing complex security architectures for large enterprises.
• In-depth knowledge of security principles, frameworks (TOGAF, SABSA, NIST), and technologies.
• Experience with cloud security architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) and microservices security.
• Strong understanding of network security, cryptography, IAM, and application security.
• Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP-ISSAP, TOGAF, or equivalent are highly preferred.
• Must be willing to work on-site in East London, Eastern Cape.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the enterprise security architecture strategy and roadmap.
• Design and oversee the implementation of security controls and solutions across various technology domains (network, cloud, applications, data).
• Evaluate emerging security technologies and recommend their adoption where appropriate.
• Lead security reviews of new projects and initiatives, ensuring security is embedded from the outset.
• Define security standards, patterns, and best practices for the organization.
• Collaborate with IT leadership, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment of security architecture with business objectives.
• Provide expert guidance on security architecture principles and best practices.
• Develop and maintain security architecture documentation, including diagrams, policies, and standards.
• Contribute to threat modeling and risk assessment processes from an architectural perspective.
• Mentor junior security professionals and contribute to the growth of the security team.
