Placements24 in East London, South Africa seeks a seasoned Lead Information Security Engineer to drive enterprise security design and operations. You will lead a team of security engineers, setting standards, and delivering robust architectures to defend critical assets.

The role requires a Master’s degree and 8+ years in information security, with at least 2 years in leadership. You’ll collaborate across functions to embed security into SDLC and operations, while advancing cutting-edge security

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• 8+ years in information security engineering with at least 2 in leadership.
• Proven experience designing and implementing complex security architectures.
• Strong knowledge of security frameworks and compliance requirements.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and implementation of enterprise-level security solutions and infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of information security engineers.
• Oversee deployment and management of security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint security.
• Develop and enforce security engineering standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security into system development and operational processes.
• Manage security projects from conception through to implementation and ongoing maintenance.
