Job summary

Crew Life at Sea in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Executive Housekeeper to lead and supervise the hotel services aboard a cruise experience. You will train staff, schedule shifts, assess performance and maintain high cleanliness standards across cabins, public areas and crew quarters.

You will manage cleaning procedures, inventory, safety compliance, and guest communications, coordinating with other departments to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience in a supervisory role in housekeeping, preferably in a cruise ship or hotel setting
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures and techniques
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness
• Flexibility to work long hours and weekends as needed
• Fluent in English; knowledge of other languages is a plus
• Must be able to pass a background check and obtain necessary certifications for working on a cruise ship

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise the housekeeping staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
• Develop and implement cleaning schedules and procedures to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of all guest areas, including cabins, public areas, and crew quarters
• Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment
• Ensure compliance with all safety and sanitation regulations
• Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner
• Conduct inspections to ensure that all cabins and public areas are properly cleaned and maintained
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations
• Prepare and manage the housekeeping budget
• Conduct regular meetings with the housekeeping team to review performance and address any issues or concerns
• Train and mentor new housekeeping staff members
• Handle and resolve any guest complaints or issues related to housekeeping services
