Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Event Catering Chef de Partie to join a dynamic kitchen team, supporting events across the Soweto region. You will prepare specific dishes to the highest standards, working under pressure to meet service demands, and collaborate with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to ensure consistency in quality, presentation and taste.

You will manage your station, maintain cleanliness, follow food safety rules, assist with inventory and ordering, and contribute to a positive kitchen

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or Commis Chef in a busy kitchen environment, preferably with catering experience.
• Solid understanding of cooking techniques, flavor profiles, and food presentation.
• Ability to work efficiently and maintain high standards under pressure.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and plate specific dishes according to established recipes and quality standards.
• Manage your designated station, ensuring it is clean, organized, and fully stocked.
• Adhere strictly to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
• Collaborate with the Head Chef and Sous Chef on menu execution and presentation.
• Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and ordering for your section.
• Contribute to a positive and efficient kitchen environment through teamwork and communication.
