Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Event Catering Chef de Partie for a renowned catering service servicing the Paarl region. The role spans high-profile events, from intimate gatherings to large banquets, with hands-on kitchen work on-site and potential remote coordination for event planning.

You will work under Head Chef and Sous Chef to deliver exceptional gastronomic experiences, lead a section, and contribute to menu development while maintaining high hygiene and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience as Chef de Partie or Commis Chef in a reputable setting.
• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and cuisines.
• Proficient in food preparation, presentation and plating.
• Excellent understanding of food safety, sanitation, and HACCP principles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to recipes and standards.
• Manage a kitchen section during event preparations and service.
• Ensure consistency in taste, texture and presentation of all items.
• Maintain hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen area.
• Assist with menu planning, recipe development and costing.
• Manage inventory for your section including stock rotation and ordering.
• Train and supervise junior staff and commis chefs.
• Collaborate with kitchen team for smooth workflow and timely execution.
• Monitor food quality and portion control to minimize waste.
