Placements24 is seeking an Event Chef de Partie for on-site work in Paarl, Western Cape. You will manage a section of the kitchen under the Sous Chef and Head Chef, delivering high-quality dishes for prestigious events.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in a Chef de Partie role, strong cooking techniques, food safety knowledge, and a collaborative, detail-oriented approach in a fast-paced kitchen. Formal culinary training is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Chef de Partie or equivalent in a reputable kitchen.
• Strong cooking techniques and ability to execute with precision.
• Proficiency in food preparation, cooking and plating.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Team player with good communication.
• Flexible to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Passion for food and desire to learn in fine dining catering.
• Formal culinary training is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items for your station according to recipes and guidelines.
• Ensure consistent quality and taste in your section.
• Maintain a clean, organized, sanitary workstation and adhere to food safety protocols.
• Manage inventory for your section and report to the Sous Chef.
• Assist in recipe development and menu planning as required.
• Collaborate with kitchen team to ensure smooth service flow.
• Train and guide junior kitchen staff in your section.
• Control food waste and support cost-efficient operations.
• Adhere to company policies, health and safety regulations.
• Participate in kitchen meetings and training sessions.
• Assist in plating and garnishing dishes for event service.
