Placements24 seeks an Energy Storage Systems Engineer to join their Mahikeng team, designing, developing, and deploying advanced storage solutions that support renewable energy and grid stability. You will model systems, select batteries and inverters, and develop control strategies across projects, with remote work options for non-site tasks.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in engineering and 4+ years of storage experience, with strong Lithium-ion knowledge and power electronics expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 4 years in design, engineering or deployment of energy storage systems.
• Strong battery technology, power electronics, and grid-tied design knowledge.
• Experience with system modeling software and control system development.

Responsibilities

• Design and specify energy storage systems for grid-scale, commercial, and industrial use.
• Perform system modeling, simulations, and performance analysis.
• Select storage technologies, inverters, and balance-of-system components.
• Develop control strategies and algorithms for charging, discharging, and grid interaction.
• Collaborate with project developers, EPC contractors, and grid operators.
• Ensure designs comply with safety standards, codes, and technical specifications.
