Job summary

GreenCape Innovation Hub in Bloemfontein, South Africa, seeks an Energy Storage Systems Engineer to design, optimize and implement storage solutions for residential, commercial and industrial customers.

You will model energy storage systems, conduct feasibility analyses, partner with cross‑functional teams to integrate ESS with power infrastructure, and monitor performance using analytics. A 3–5 year track record in energy systems design and a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering are required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in energy systems design or renewable energy projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Postgraduate qualification in Energy Storage is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and model energy storage systems for solar, wind, and hybrid applications.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for energy storage projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ESS with existing power infrastructure.
• Monitor system performance and optimize efficiency using data analytics tools.
• Ensure compliance with national and international energy safety standards.
