Placements24 is seeking an experienced Energy Project Manager for our client in George, Western Cape. You will lead energy infrastructure projects from inception through handover, ensuring scope, schedule, budget and resources are aligned with strategic goals.

You will manage risks, engage stakeholders including clients and government agencies, and drive project teams to successful delivery while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in project management, with at least 5 years in the energy sector.
• Experience managing large-scale, complex projects from initiation to closure.
• Proficiency with project management software (MS Project, Primavera).
• Willingness to travel within George and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end project lifecycle for energy infrastructure projects.
• Develop comprehensive project plans with scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resources.
• Manage project budgets and track expenditures to stay within financial constraints.
• Identify, assess, and manage project risks with mitigation strategies.
• Lead project teams including engineers, contractors, and specialists.
• Facilitate communication among clients, government agencies, and internal departments.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Monitor progress and report status to senior management.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
• Experience with contract management, procurement processes, and financial oversight.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate diverse project teams.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Solid understanding of the energy industry, including regulatory frameworks and market dynamics.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
