Placements24 is seeking an Automotive Software Development Engineer with a strong embedded focus to join a cutting-edge automotive technology division in Pretoria, Gauteng. The role involves the full software lifecycle, collaborating with hardware and systems engineers to deliver robust, real-time solutions for infotainment, ADAS, and ECU applications.

Applicants should have a solid background in C/C++ for embedded systems, experience with RTOS, and knowledge of automotive protocols.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, SE, or EE.
• 4+ years embedded software experience in automotive.
• Strong C/C++ in embedded environments.
• RTOS experience (FreeRTOS, QNX, or similar).
• Familiar with CAN, LIN, UDS, DoIP.
• SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Git version control experience.
• AUTOSAR knowledge a plus.
• Legal right to work in South Africa.

Aufgaben

• Design, develop, and implement embedded software for automotive control units and systems.
• Write clean, efficient C/C++ code for real-time embedded environments.
• Collaborate with system architects and hardware engineers to define software requirements and specifications.
• Develop and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and system tests to ensure software quality and reliability.
• Debug and resolve software defects identified during development and testing phases.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain high standards of code quality and best practices.
• Work with CAN, LIN and Automotive Ethernet.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of software development processes and tools.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in embedded software development for the automotive industry.
• Support software integration onto target hardware and assist in system validation activities.
