Placements24 is hiring an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our facilities management team in the Queenstown area of the Eastern Cape. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems across commercial and industrial sites, ensuring safety and minimal downtime.

The role requires a qualified electrician with at least four years of industrial experience, PLC knowledge, and proficiency with testing equipment.

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrical Maintenance Technician with trade certs.
• Minimum 4 years in industrial or commercial electrical maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of electrical theory, PLC systems and power distribution.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly competent Electrical Maintenance Technician to join their facilities management team, with a focus on operations in and around Queenstown . This role is critical for maintaining the electrical integrity and operational readiness of commercial and industrial facilities. You will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, ensuring safety, compliance, and minimal disruption. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in industrial electrical systems, is adept at preventative maintenance, and can work effectively both independently and as part of a team. This position offers the chance to contribute to essential infrastructure maintenance, working with diverse electrical equipment in a variety of settings across the Eastern Cape region.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency electrical maintenance and repairs on all facility electrical systems, machinery, and equipment.
• Diagnose electrical faults using appropriate testing equipment and troubleshooting techniques.
• Install, maintain, and repair power distribution systems, lighting, control circuits, and motor controls.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance to identify potential hazards and ensure system reliability.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics , blueprints, and technical manuals to guide work.
• Ensure all work complies with relevant safety regulations, electrical codes, and company policies.

Requirements

• Qualified Electrical Maintenance Technician with relevant trade certifications.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in industrial or commercial environments.
